Car Club

Cars are an integral part of our daily lives. Ranging from used to expensive and high-speed models, there are over 5,000 varieties of automobiles globally. Co-heads Mac Aronhalt ’27 and LT Nguyen ’27 discuss the newly revived STC Car Club, whose predecessor was discontinued in 2016.
This organization was recreated because the leaders “wanted to make a place for [themselves] and others to share what we know and love.” Their goal is to help people learn more about the vehicles and their different types. Additionally, they want to provide STC students with a forum for talking about cars and learning basic repair information. The co-heads are also working to partner with the Upper School Ethics and Debate Club to host a car-themed debate and find knowledgeable speakers to join their conversations.
While meetings are currently hosted in Mr. McGuire’s room on day-four FLEX periods, the group is actively searching for an alternative time to meet so more people can attend. Aronhalt and Nguyen’s passion for cars is clearly contagious. The members love learning about new cars, older cars and their engines, and are thrilled to kick this year into drive.
